Meta's green dot you cannot turn off
Meta’s app is non-inclusive.
There is a green dot for notifications that keeps pulling me to check notifications on other connected apps. I have no intention of checking those apps. I would rather turn the dot off, but there is no option for it. It is simply not in the design.
They do not care about people with ADHD or people who need a clean digital environment.
It is inconsiderate design for most people. Instead of making sure everyone can use the app in a productive manner, it is a self-centered choice. It pushes users as much as possible to get what Meta wants done and hit its metrics.
This is the same misalignment I wrote about in Why I Dont Like Instagram: the platform follows its Incentive Structures, not my time.
